LASPOTECH holds 18th Convocation Ceremony

The Polytechnic will hold its 18th Convocation Ceremony for the award of National Diploma and Higher National Diploma to over 5,000 graduating students on Thursday, 22nd April, 2010 at the Convocation Grounds, Ikorodu Campus by 10:00am.

Graduating students are advised to pay a sum of N2,500 only to the Bursary Department for their academic gowns and convocation brochure.

Other programmes lined up for the ceremony include a pre-convocation alumni dinner on Saturday, 10th April, 2010 at the Lagos Sheraton Hotel and Towers by 6pm and a press conference on Monday, 12th April, 2010 at the Council Chambers, Ikorodu Campus by 9:00 am. There will be a play by the LASPOTECH Performance Troupe (LASPET) on Tuesday, 13th April, 2010 at the Main Auditorium, Isolo Campus by 2pm.

An Interdenominational Service for Christians will take place on Wednesday, 14th April, 2010 at the School of Engineering Lecture Theatre, Ikorodu Campus by 12noon and a Jumat Service on Friday, 16th April, 2010 at the Ikorodu Campus Mosque, Ikorodu by 1pm.

On Thursday, 15th April, 2010, there will be Students’ Programme by 12 noon at the Activities Centre and a football match later in the day by 2:00 pm at the Football Field, Ikorodu Campus. There will also be a Dinner and Cultural Show at the Lagos Sheraton Hotel and Towers on Saturday, 17th April, 2010 by 5:30 pm.

The Convocation Lecture titled “Empowering Future Generations for Self-Reliance” will hold on Tuesday, 20th April, 2010 at the School of Engineering Lecture Theatre, Ikorodu Campus by 1pm.


The Lecture will be delivered by Professor Babatunde L. A. Fetuga
(former Dean, School of Post-Graduate Studies, University of Ibadan, Ibadan).

Wednesday, 21st April, 2010 will serve as the Rehearsal and Rest Day for all participants in the convocation academic procession. The rehearsals will take place at the Convocation Grounds, Ikorodu Campus by 10:00 am prompt.
